Time Out says

At The Brooklyn Kitchen, you’re in for some serious (and sometimes seriously messy) fun. Their team of dedicated and experienced instructors encourage students to have fun and make mistakes throughout the learning process. Their courses are highly hands-on, so you won’t be watching a chef cook a dish while they talk to you; you’ll be creating your own dish from start to finish. What's more, the instructors at The Brooklyn Kitchen teach students to cook to their own tastes. That way, whatever you create will be uniquely yours, and you’ll enjoy it that much more.

The Brooklyn Kitchen has a wide range of public cooking courses that cater to all skill levels and taste preferences. Students who are looking to learn the essentials of cooking may enjoy one of their basic skills classes, like Knife Skills. In this workshop, students will prepare vegetable stock and caramelized onions as they learn essential, safe knife-handling skills. Participants will also learn how to shop for and properly store ingredients. There is also a Sauces 101 course, which covers everything from rustic, chunky salsas to emulsified pan sauces that will complement any fish or meat dish.

There are also plenty of classes that focus on a specific dish or style of cuisine, like dumplings, homemade pasta and gnocchi, and sushi. The Brooklyn Kitchen also has a fun Date Night course which is a romantic experience for any couple. The menus vary depending on the season and ingredient availability, but previous date night menus have included dishes like kale caesar salad, grilled chicken and seitan kebabs, and olive oil cake. There is even a Singles Night where participants can mingle with other like-minded folks while cooking a meal together.

Classes at The Brooklyn Kitchen are frequently praised as being both fun and educational. The instructors are clearly passionate about what they do, and students often report feeling that their money was well-spent. Many former participants feel confident in their ability to recreate what they learned at home and enjoy spending time with the friendly and knowledgeable staff.
